If you have had an adverse medical report or think that the doctor who examined
you made a mistake then you can complain to the General Medical Council.
You can also complain to SEMA (Atos Origin) at their address listed
on this site.
You should also make a complaint to the Benefits Agency to get compensation
for any harm caused. A form can be obtained from any BA office.
To get an investigation started into any anomalies in your case you will first
need to complain to your local MP. They will probably write to the BA
on your behalf, this sometimes gets results. If not, ask your MP to support
an application to the Parliamentary Ombudsman. He has
powers to investigate any government department, and also to get you compensation
if applicable.
The DLAAB should also be notified if
you are not satisfied with the way the medical evidence was gathered.
These processes can take months, so above all else, don't give up! Speak to
a Welfare Rights organisation such as Citizens
Advice to see if it would be worth your while applying again in the mean
time.
