ORGANIC SEED

We have Organically Grown seed available at Waltz's Ark

Right now, selections are limited as we get things going and see what our customers want the most. Our selections will grow as requests and space allow. This is quality seed, grown as Nature intended, with water and natural fertilizers. No chemical sprays of any kind, and all pests are controlled with companion plantings, natural sprays, and natural predators. We are proud to announce that we are now certified organic by the State of Colorado Agriculture Department. Take a look below and if you see something you like, please feel free to email with an order request. If you would like something not offered, let us know, so we can plan for future expansions.

ANNUAL FLOWERS

Marigolds
This is a mixed supply of small French marigolds, mostly bicolored. They grow about 1 foot high, and are prolific bloomers. Plant a few rows around your tomatoes to ward off pests.

Hollyhocks

almost blackdouble pink
This is a mixture of colors, ranging from maroon to pink to white. Hollyhocks are actually classified as biennials, and this blend readily reseeds itself, sometimes very well. These are tall, close to 6 foot. Great in the back of the border or along fencelines and buildings.

Zinnias

This is a mixture of colors, ranging from candy stripes to red, orange, pink, etc. The first blend is the small pom-pom type mixture, which reaches about 18 inches tall. The second blend is the large blossom mixture, with a range from brilliant red to vibrant pink.

Sunflowers

Sunflowers
This is a mixture of very pretty varieties. The blend will attract beneficial birds to your gardens that enjoy devouring those insect pests, as well as provide some tasty treats for the growers.

PERENNIAL FLOWERS

Blanketflower (Gaillardia)
This is a mixture of the Burgundy and the traditional varieties.

Blanketflower Mr. Sunshine
We have a very limited supply of this new all yellow blossomed variety.

Rudbeckia
Pretty flowers that attract beneficial bees. Reseeds itself nicely.

Datura

Large plant, perennial, that produces very beautiful trumpet-shaped white flowers, and large prickly seed pods that are attractive in dried flower arrangements.

Penstemon
A blend of varieties that do well in arid regions, drought tolerant.

VEGETABLES AND GREENS

Salad Greens
This is a mixture of several varieties of lettuces and spinaches. We really enjoy these as baby greens, making salads as soon as the plants have 3 to 4 leaves about 2 to 3 inches tall. Most of the varieties mixed within are slow to bolt. Plant successive groups or rows for a continued supply into fall. A must have for all salad lovers! Includes items such as Thompson Black, Red Sails, Arugula, Razzle Dazzle (spinach), Teton (spinach), Salad Bowl, Oakleaf, Mizuna, Dwarf Curled Scotch Kale, Red Sails, India Mustard, Butterhead.

Radish
A mixture of the most popular and tasty varieties, including White Icicle.

Yellow Pear Tomato
These plants produce incredible amounts of tomatoes! Start early to get more fruit throughout the summer.

Sweet Cherry Tomato
These also produce a lot of tomatoes for your salads. Plant marigolds around tomatoes to ward off many pests.

HERBS - Medicinal and Culinary

Japanese Burdock
This variety is well known for both its medicinal and culinary uses. The root is often used in stir fry and in various dishes like a turnip or parsnip. Very tasty!

Evening Primrose
This is the bright yellow flowered plant that the medicinal Evening Primrose Oil is made from.

Horehound
A valuable plant for treating coughs and scratchy throats.

Echinacea

Tarragon
This is the French tarragon, tasty in fish dishes and soups and stews. Can grow into quite a nice large bushy plant; propogate by root division every 2 to 3 years, or by seeds.

PLANTS

We are not yet shipping plants, and probably won't in the near future. However, for those customers within driving distance, Waltz's Ark does provide an ever-growing selection of quality plants, all organically raised, for your gardens.

Succulents
We have several popular varieties to choose from.

Mint
We grow a variety of popular mints, including peppermint, pineapple, orange, chocolate, and common. Root starts are available.

Russian Sage
Well suited to the arid regions of Western Colorado, smells divine and is very attractive in any garden setting.

Purslane
Another medicinal plant, also very tasty in salads and stir fries.

Blue Mist Spirea
An attractive shrub with blue flowers throughout the summer. The bees really love this one!
